Volunteer with us

Become a volunteer

You could either help out at one of our clinics, or if there’s not one near you, you could set one up, it’s very easy if you can spare a few hours every 6 to 8 weeks or so.
Contact a venue – only a small space is needed and a couple of chairs rather like a domiciliary visit. We encourage teams of two people, (you must have insurance) Podiatrists, FHPs and podiatry students, under supervision are welcome.
We can support with equipment and consumables, depending on supplies. View our locations we currently operate from.

Our Aim

Our main aim is to get as many volunteers as possible across the UK, offering free footcare treatment to the homeless, vulnerable and socially isolated. Volunteers offer approximately 2 hours every 6 weeks, some every 8 weeks. Others just over the winter months.

Recommendations

We do recommend that volunteers work in two`s and many services have put together rotas, so the burden is then reduced on any one practitioner. We can arrange for instruments, felts & dressings (when they are donated) to be sent to you, if required. Trainers and socks can be left at the centre, but for safety reasons we ask that they keep instruments, dressings and patient record cards with them and take them for each session as you would do for a domiciliary visit.

Confidentiality

Please bear in mind that service users may not always be willing to provide medical/personal information, due to their personal circumstances – but that does not prevent us from offering them treatments.

Professionalism

We do ask that you send us your professional body membership number (or policy number of your indemnity insurance) as proof of your insurance for us to keep on file as we need this information for auditing purposes. Your details will not be passed on to any third party, it is purely for Forgotten Feet to keep on file as a charity.
