FAQ

How do I volunteer?

Contact us through the website, email or Facebook group and one of our volunteer coordinators will be in touch.

How can I help?

You can help by volunteering, making a donation through the link on the website, collecting socks and/or shoes or donating equipment and consumables required for treatment plus order a collection box for your clinic.

Can I do a fundraising event?

Yes, let us know and we can help with organising a fundraising event.

What equipment do I need?

You only need basic equipment that is commonly used when you do home visits.

Do you supply what we need for the sessions?

We can supply most of what you need for the sessions, subject to availability.

What should I wear?

Just wear what you normally wear for work – or if possible buy one of our blue polo shirts. Sometimes it’s more informal to wear a polo shirt rather than uniform.

Where do you get the polo shirts from?

The polo shirts are available through our merchandise page here.

Can I run a clinic on my own?

In some cases where it’s deemed safe and there are plenty of staff in the same area as you are working, it’s possible to do this on your own. But we recommend working in pairs or more.

Can someone help if they are not qualified?

Anyone can help a qualified person by being present as an assistant, handing out socks etc.

What sort of things do we treat?

Most of what we see is very routine, generally neglected nails and callus.

What if it’s something I can’t treat?

If it’s out of your scope of practice don’t treat it. Cover with a dry dressing and advise they go to A&E if it’s an infection or ulcer. Refer on where possible. Sometimes district nurses and GPs run a service for the homeless – or they do drop-in sessions.
